What is Symbology and Why is it in the Program?
Year 1

Introduction
ψ A symbol is a mark, sign, or word that indicates, signifies, or is understood as representing an idea, object, or relationship. Symbols extend knowledge by creating linkages between simple concepts and complex experiences and is meant to be used as a communication and information processing system.
Symbols take any form such as letters, words, sounds, gestures, ideas, or visual images and are used to convey ideas and beliefs between two or more systems. Numerals are symbols for numbers for example the variable ‘x’, in a mathematical equation, may symbolize the position of a particle in space. The letters of an alphabet may be symbols for certain phonemes; and personal names are symbols representing character or the nature of an individual or thing.
An example can be seen in the Tarot deck the first card of the Major Arcana (mysteries) is the Fool Card. It symbolises the start of beginning of an event that can be a person, place, thing, or action.
This image is symbolic of the journey that everyone goes through life many times in their lives and after death. The symbology is not only the image of the person, but it is every aspect of the card. The number on top is valuable information as well as the background of the Sun and yellow sky next to a body of water (perhaps the ocean). And the rocky cliffs through which the fool travels give us data. The name of the card The Fool also contains information. So, then the symbology of this cards is everything that meets the eye and more.
The study of symbols is called semiotics. In an organized collection of symbols, the symbols form the legend, or set of instructions for understanding. Semiotics is a subject that we will cover more extensively in the course.
So, you can see that symbols form an important part of communications between human systems. It can also be used to communicate to other types of symbols those between humans and nature, or nature and nature.
Communication to Nature Using Symbols
Everything in nature communicates to other elements within the same ecologic system. When a bird flies to a flowering plant to acquire the requisite pollen to take back to the hive it interfaces with the plant. The symbol is the flowers of the plant notifying the bee that it has the products needed for the transaction. Previously the bee species had made a contract with the plant that it will be responsible for pollinating the flower so that the plant can reproduce. The deal is that as long as the plant exists it will provide pollen to the bees in exchange for the bees’ service of pollinating the flower. Notification of the readiness of the transaction takes the form of the plant’s blossoms. The blossoms signify a need of service. The bees respond naturally to the request. This system of communication is primal and instinctive.
Symbols as Complex Communication Systems
Symbols are both simple as well as complex. As a simple communication system, the understanding or information that it conveys is generally one or two dimensional. (i.e. a dot or period touches one dimension having no height or breath.) Understanding is fairly exact when used within the context of the rest of the system or environment.
A complex communication system is one where the ideas convey more than one meaning or multiple levels of meaning and dimensions. An example of a complex symbol is “ | “which can be seen as quantity, or quality, a number 1, or just a straight line. Depending upon the context the | can have a myriad of different meanings and therefore, becomes complex due to its relations within the body, wherefore its meaning and purpose are revealed. Its meaning is not simply straight forward.
In the course we will teach how to read them on each of the Personality levels and on some of the higher layers of existence as well. Symbols serve as vehicles of conception, growth, and evolution for all human knowledge. They facilitate understanding the world(s) in which we live and they assist us in navigating the worlds and dimensions of time and space. They also serve as decision making tools for forecasting. An example is that as you are driving your vehicle and you see a green light at the signal 100 metres ahead and so you know that you have from your present location and time to the exact position of the light in which to traverse through before the light turns red. The green light of course gives you an idea of time and the speed that you need to accelerate in order to pass the threshold in a safe and timely manner.
This is just one way symbols are used to assist us to navigate in complex communications systems. Just as an exercise try to list all of the symbolic elements (systems) that must be considered in this scenario.

Thus, you can see that people use symbols not only to make sense of the world around them, but also to identify and cooperate in society.
Symbols as A Means to Communicate with Your Soul
The Soul as was mentioned in an earlier article is “spark of the divine” energy and as such it is an ancient and traditional entity. It is similar in many ways to angels, and it has its own special language that it communicates both to other Souls as well as the human. The Soul communicates most of the time to the subconscious mind as that is the unconscious controller of the Personality Complex. The Subconscious mind uses almost exclusively the symbolic language that is not that different from the hieroglyphs that both ancient men used as well as many of the newer civilized people such as the Egyptians, Chinese, Hindu, and Arabs. And you can see that the evolution of their written language was originally ideographs that were not only used as a means of communication between themselves but was also used to attract and draw energy from Souls and Spirits. Therefore, the subconscious mind of a human is always in contact with the Soul(s) and they communicate through symbols.
The Personality complex can at times communicate with his soul, but the most accurate means of relaying information between the two is using symbols, especially ancient symbols to identify themes and clarify messages. The astral world is the realm of symbols as well as other planes of consciousness. The Personality and Soul both use astral symbology to relay messages. And we will communicate more on this topic during the course.
The Purpose of Symbology in Psionic Circles
As you have learned from reading the above text learning symbology or as we will call it the language of the Soul is particularly important not only for communicating to one another at a higher level, but it is also important for communicating to our subconscious mind who then can go directly to the Soul as a higher-level controller.
Therefore, in this unit you will learn the symbolic language of the Tarot Cards, Numbers, and the transit symbols of Astrology. While we are leaning the symbols of these symbols, we are not learning divination as the use of the symbols in forecasting time and space. We will merely look at each symbol as the subconscious mind looks at them and communicates this information to the soul as something that needs to be added into the life of the Personality or something that needs to be removed from the Personality. In this course we have selected these systems because they are universal to time and space and universal to human understanding.
Again, we will not study Tarot Numerology or Astrology, but will be learning the symbology of the elements of these systems.
