Light or visible light is electromagnetic radiation within the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that is perceived by the human eye. It can be generated by bioelectric organisms organic and inorganic. And it comes from the sun.
“But my darling, there’s no such thing as the light at the end of the tunnel, you must realize that you are the light.” Famous Person
Introduction
Light is fundamental to life. Our Sun has existed for over 4.603 billion years. But that pales in comparison with other stars in our galaxy and beyond. We discovered light was in other places other than the sun. It occurs when we strike two stones together as a spark that creates fire, and in the electricity in storms. There are animals and plants that can create their own light. They are fireflies, mushrooms and certain varieties of jellyfish. Rocks and minerals also have a phosphorescence. Bioluminescence is the production and emission of light by a living organism.
A fundamental principle in Psionic Circles is the principle of continuous electrical circuitry. And the light we will be discussing here is man-made through the principles of electricity and electronics. In this snippet article we will discuss the simple continuous circuits, specifically how a simple electrical circuit converts electricity into light. We will start with looking at the components of a simple continuous electrical circuit, then discuss how it works, next offer examples and last offer an interesting factoid about the longest circuit. From a Psionics viewpoint this is the fundamental nature of the Soul and its evolution. It also defines parameters on how the Soul interfaces with forces to maintain health and wellbeing. And while this will not be discussed in this snippet
Definition of a Circuit
A circuit is a roughly circular line, route, or movement that starts and finishes at the same place. It marks an established itinerary of events or venues used for a particular activity. It originated Old French from the Latin word circuitus, and circuire; which are variants of circumire meaning ‘go round’, and circum meaning ‘around’ + ire ‘go’. We notice that it has similar roots as circle and circumstances.
So then, from the general use of the term, we direct its use to electricity and thus, a circuit is an electronic circuit that is composed of individual electronic components, such as resistors, transistors, capacitors, inductors and diodes, connected by conductive wires or traces through which electric current can flow. Our simple circuit will be defined with the basic components which will be given the in the next section.
Components of a Simple Continuous Circuit
Our simple circuit will consist of the following: power supply (AA batteries), wires, light bulb with holder. As you can imagine the function of the battery is to provide power to the circuit using electrons moving through the circuit, the wires that allow the current to flow, and the light bulb which operates as a resistor which traps some of the current and converts it into light.
How the Simple Circuit Works
A simple circuit works by electromotive pressure provided by the battery. Electrons are negatively charged particles that are found in atoms. When they are confined to wires they move from atom to atom through the circuit from negative charged side of the battery through to the positively charged side of the battery. As they proceed through the circuit some of the electrons are “caught” in the light filament and illuminates the light. The brightness of the light depends upon the value of the resistance within the bulb. The greater the resistance, the brighter the light.
An Interesting Fact
Circuits can be any size from very small circuits that are the size of your fingernail in silicon chips, to massive. The largest circuit currently is called the SEA-ME-WE 3. It is an optical submarine telecommunications cable that links Australia – to Western Europ and Asia. And it is the longest in the world.
Its construction was led by France Telecom and China Telecom, and is administered by Singtel, a telecommunications operator owned by the Government of Singapore. The construction started in 1997 and finished in 2000. It is 39,000 kilometres (24,000 mi) in length and uses Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology with Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) transmission to increase capacity and enhance the quality of the signal over that distance with 39 landing points.
Well that is the end of this brief snippet. We hope that you have enjoyed learning and reading a bit about simple electrical circuits.
